#3 - Eat with chopsticks for a month: The beginning ...

So I started this off today not knowing I was even going to do a 40 Day Adventure, I just knew that I wanted to learn how to use chopsticks. I had already decided that I would do my best to learn over the next few weeks.

So my first meal was scrambled eggs and toast.

I have to say I was shocked at how well I did! It only took twice as long as usual - not bad at all ... I thought. I think small chunks of things are good, especially when they are soft and pliable.

Which lead me to my dinner, which was not such a success.

I had brown rice, small pieces of chicken, red pepper and broccoli. Let's just say using chopsticks with non sticky rice will definitely help me with my weight loss goals. In fact I'm surprised no one has thought of the 'chopstick diet' yet.

Even though it took a lot of interesting finger movements and I had serious questions as to whether or not I'd be pursuing a beverage later for my supper, I did eventually succeed in finishing my stir fry ... eventually.

My next questions is: how do Asians eat yogurt? I banked on spoons, however if I find out differently I will be accountable and use my creativity wisely to somehow get it down.

Also, do they just sip their soup? I'd love to know.

Anyhoo, there's my first day of chopstickness. Should be interesting to see how it goes the rest of the month.

P.S. I don't know if it's cheating but I cut up my food for tomorrow as I'm not sure how to eat half a sweet potato without at least cutting it up first. I don't really want to gnaw on it as I'm sure the people I'll be supporting at work don't need to question my actions any more than they already do.

Oh yeah and I'm off to complete another number on the list, which by the way was NOT planned at all.

TOOOOO funny! I've often told people that I would totally lose weight on a chopstick diet! I've never followed through though. Do you still eat "hand" foods (like toast) with your hands? Or are you using chopsticks for EVERYTHING? And are you taking your own pair with you if you go out for dinner? Now I'm really excited about our dates! Blizzards with chopsticks.... I'm looking forward to it!

Love Bex:)
